I Can't Do It All...

We are all so busy these days!  Isn't that the answer we most often give when asked how things are going?  Busy!  We are all running around trying to do it all.  It's an impossible rat race, and as much as I would like to jump off of the hamster wheel, I am right here on it.  The busyness is fun - I love seeing my children doing the things they love to do.  I love making new friends as we join different teams.  There's joy in having your kid on a team with their best friend, whose mom is also your best friend.  I love each new activity, the changes in seasons that they bring.  I can't beat the busy - so this is my attempt to make it manageable.

Food and health is a priority.  My mom cooked amazing dinners for us growing up, complete with prepared sides and fresh chopped fruit.  My mother-in-law is a heath nut.  My husband jokes that he grew up eating plain chicken and broccoli every night.  I have learned to love healthy cooking from these two amazing women.  Just as important to me is the "showing up."  We show up at mealtimes.  Sometimes it's just not at our kitchen table.  I would love it to be at our kitchen table each night, but that's not the reality of our life with 3 active kids.

Ballpark suppers is my attempt to help myself get through this spring baseball/soccer/swimming/TKD season.  While I won't beat myself up for eating concession stand food and certainly look forward to getting Chick-Fil-A often on the crazy nights (Is there anything better than a Chick-Fil-A cookie?), I also want to be mindful of our budget and our health.
